Song #3 in the Works…

Recording resumes albeit for a moment as we bump into a small dilemma. The song is actually a cover that’s only three minutes long and we’re deciding whether to keep it that way or extend it a few measures.

By extending, I mean giving it a unique twist and not merely repeating one or twelve sections of the song just to give it length. So, any ounce of creativity we’ve spared after the recording of our previous two songs will be spent to the hilt in this one.

Just so you know that I have officially resigned from, BNB, a local entertainment band. Although my overall experience with them was the not-quite-good-but-not-quite-bad-either type I’m not on the lookout for a stint with another entertainment group, so this effectively ends my involvement in the scene for good. It really pays to start early in the showband industry and, sadly, I never had this advantage and going full-time at this point will certainly shake things up as far as my life, family, and non-music career is concerned.

Got other things to settle with a couple more groups before the project gets to cut another record.

Babychoy

Bacon Mushroom Studios are packing up and will be off to a new location by next week. Well, more like moving stuff to a new room, actually, but the turnaround adds a tad to the project’s recording hiatus.

On the bright side, this gives us the final week of summer to enjoy in whichever way we can. I, for one, haven’t gone swimming with my family (a yearly summer tradition) so this could be the week we’ve been waiting for.

Recording for our second song has concluded and initial mixing has been completed. A couple of things I learned from the experience is to never take speed metal for granted and that precision is key to successfully put it all on tape. Here’s a 50-second clip of the guitar solo part.

We’re taking a break and I’m off to spend the day in the real world to face unrealistic situations (well, paying bills, mostly).

It has been nearly a week since I started laying down the drum tracks for our second song and just managed to wrap it up today. Summoned all my speed metal knowledge and experience to this one tune and it’s, most likely, the only one of its kind I’ll ever make.

Already pondering a shift in musical direction but it’s all too good to leave the current genre, at this point.

Oh well. Next stop: rhythm guitar tracks.

Song One

Our musical project has yet to have a name but we’ve decided to just brainstorm for one when the recording for our first song concludes. It’s practically just missing the vocal track but I’m glad to know we are getting somewhere.
